A luxury safari company in Kenya

Angama is seeking a talented mid-weight designer to own all design work, translating the brand visually across touchpoints, in both concept and execution. The successful candidate will be experienced in all facets of web design, coupled with a strong background in graphic design, to help evolve the brand and grow the business.

 

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Digital — The Angama website, Partner Library and email newsletters, with the following in mind:

  • Design: Ownership of the design system; processing wireframes, building prototypes & design flows as well as packaging components for the development team
  • UX/UI: Solid understanding of user-centred design principles and methodologies as well as understanding and optimising user flows to enhance conversion opportunities
  • Mobile Responsive Design: Experience in designing interfaces to ensure a seamless user experience across various devices
  • CSS: Familiarity with basic principles to facilitate effective collaboration with front-end developers for consistent and pixel-perfect implementation

Traditional — Working across the business to deliver creative solutions in the following areas:

  • Brand: Ownership of branding and identity, enforcing guidelines and updating the CI
  • On-property: Working with the Procurement and Lodge teams to produce various items (from stationery to uniforms, signage, retail apparel, packaging, etc.)
  • Collateral: Working with Marketing, Sales and Business Development teams to create materials and templates in various formats: (PDFs, presentations, invitations, banners, etc.)
  • Sourcing: Working with printers, suppliers and other outside vendors and ensuring QA in delivery

Essential Criteria successful candidates will also be:

  • South African working residents / nationals
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Educated to a tertiary level, preferably with a relevant degree
  • 5-10 years demonstrable experience in both web and graphic design
  • Proficiency in design prototyping tools Adobe XD and Photoshop, Figma or Sketch
  • Working knowledge of WordPress, MailChimp, Asana and Slack preferred
