The conference will provide a platform for knowledge-sharing\, practical workshops\, and panel discussions that address challenges and opportunities in art education. \nDate: Friday 15 May\nVenue: Open Window\, Stellenbosch\nCatering: Lunch \nTheme Exploration in the Programme: \nThis year\, our Co-Creation and Creativity: Arts Education in Dialogue programme will explore multiple topics\, including curriculum co-creation with students\, learner-centred education and approaches to well-being\, collaborative techniques in creativity\, and co-creating with AI. \nCo-Creation and Creativity offers the platform for educators to consider: How do learners shape or inform their own learning? How does the curriculum respond to or adapt itself around learners? To what extent are we as educators continuously evolving to meet the needs of our learners? This topic is pressing as it engages with the phenomenon of ‘the individual’ and the growing demand for an individualised approach to education. It foregrounds pedagogical approaches which prioritise student autonomy and agency\, their subjective experiences and perspectives\, and self-directed learning. This phenomenon further entails curriculum diversity and flexibility. How can we empower ourselves as educators to navigate set curriculum parameters\, whether governmental or privately determined? How can we collaborate cross-institutionally for the benefit of educators and students alike? \nAs educators\, we acknowledge the extent to which learning and creativity are\, in fact\, always collaborative\, whether it be between groups and individuals\, or between people and technology\, online platforms\, and tools. Particularly relevant to co-creating with technology is the promotion of active learning alongside AI rather than blindly depending on it. DESCRIPTION:– STUDENTS & STAFF ONLY – \nOPEN WINDOW PROUDLY PRESENTS \nThe 4th annual Open Window 55 HOUR FILM FESTIVAL on the weekend of 1\,2 & 3 August 2025. \nThemes etc. to be revealed at the Kickstarter Gathering on Friday 1 August at 16:00 in the AV Auditorium (Centurion) with the Lusaka and Stellenbosch groups joining online. \nFinished films to be handed in before 23:00 on Sunday 3 August.\nAll films will be screened on Tues 5 Aug at 18:00. \n  \nRULES OF THE GAME: \nAll finished films must aim to be exactly 05:55 in length. \nThere will be five lines of dialogue to choose from (at least one line must be included in the film). \nThere will be five different props to choose from (at least one prop must be included in the film). \nThere will be five genres to choose from (at least one genre must be used in the film). \nThe WORDLE word of 1\, 2 or 3 August 2025 must be included in the film. \nYou may use any camera and equipment you can get your hands on. \nYou may use AI\, just acknowledge it in the credits. \n  \nREGISTRATION: \nAll participants form their own groups of between 4-12 people\, including actors.  \nA maximum of two persons per group may be non-OW persons (student or staff). \nAlumni (former students) are welcome to enter as part of any group\, and do not count as non-OW persons. \nAdd your group’s names to the sheet – registration of groups closes on 1 August.
