The conference will provide a platform for knowledge-sharing\, practical workshops\, and panel discussions that address challenges and opportunities in art education. \nDate: Friday 15 May\nVenue: Open Window\, Stellenbosch\nCatering: Lunch \nTheme Exploration in the Programme: \nThis year\, our Co-Creation and Creativity: Arts Education in Dialogue programme will explore multiple topics\, including curriculum co-creation with students\, learner-centred education and approaches to well-being\, collaborative techniques in creativity\, and co-creating with AI. \nCo-Creation and Creativity offers the platform for educators to consider: How do learners shape or inform their own learning? How does the curriculum respond to or adapt itself around learners? To what extent are we as educators continuously evolving to meet the needs of our learners? This topic is pressing as it engages with the phenomenon of ‘the individual’ and the growing demand for an individualised approach to education. It foregrounds pedagogical approaches which prioritise student autonomy and agency\, their subjective experiences and perspectives\, and self-directed learning. This phenomenon further entails curriculum diversity and flexibility. How can we empower ourselves as educators to navigate set curriculum parameters\, whether governmental or privately determined? How can we collaborate cross-institutionally for the benefit of educators and students alike? \nAs educators\, we acknowledge the extent to which learning and creativity are\, in fact\, always collaborative\, whether it be between groups and individuals\, or between people and technology\, online platforms\, and tools. Particularly relevant to co-creating with technology is the promotion of active learning alongside AI rather than blindly depending on it. Our ancestors told stories around a fire as a form of community and mythmaking. Join us for a creative writing workshop presented by Hanna Sephton\, OW MakerSpace Technician and former Screenwriting student. You will be guided through a series of writing activities designed to challenge conventional approaches to storytelling\, centred on the theme of THE OW BURN. DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]– OPEN TO ALL STUDENTS\, STAFF & ALUMNI – BOOKING ESSENTIAL –  \nExquisite Corpse 10.0 presents Riso Roulette \nJoin us for a collaborative risograph printing workshop in the Open Window Makerspace. All artworks will be exhibited in our 10th edition of Exquisite Corpse on Thursday\, 23 April.  \nThe annual exhibition is based on the game ‘Exquisite Corpse’ invented by Surrealist artists during the 1920s. It involves the participation of a group of artists\, where each artist contributes to a single image. This year is our 10th anniversary edition and will form part of our Microfighters Event and Workshop Series.
