Remote Video Editor for Paid Social

Company Overview:
We’re a digital advertising agency focused on performance marketing. Our team is made up of analytical problem-solvers and creative people focused on profitable growth for our clients.

Pretty videos aren’t enough for us. We want creative that stops the scroll and actually drives sales, and we let performance data tell us what’s working rather than guessing. Our culture runs on trust and accountability, and we expect everyone here to keep learning.

We’re fully remote with talent across a few regions, and we’re looking for an editor who cares about craft and speed as much as we do.

Check out our website: www.fluid-dm.com

We’re a small team of 6 marketers and creatives, all working to drive real results for our clients.

What we’re looking for:
We need an in-house Video Editor. This is a remote (work from home) position, available to work UK business hours.

You’ll be the person turning raw footage, UGC and creative briefs into ads that perform. You’ll own the edit from rough cut through to final delivery, including pacing, hooks, captions, sound design and motion graphics, and you’ll work with our strategists and media buyers on what to test and why.

Salary & growth opportunities:
This role starts at R37,000 per month with the opportunity to earn R51,000+ per month with bonuses.

You’ll start by supporting a handful of client accounts while you learn our systems, standards and creative frameworks
You’ll take on more volume and creative ownership as you prove your speed and quality
You’ll be measured on the quality of your work, your turnaround speed, and how your creative performs once it’s live.

Growth opportunities:

High performers who take on more volume and earn more
We promote from within, so your growth is limited only by your performance

The ideal candidate:
Video Editing Mastery You know your editing software properly, whether that’s Premiere Pro, After Effects, CapCut or something equivalent. You can cut for pace and rhythm, sync to music, add clean captions and motion graphics, and handle basic sound design and colour. You’ve edited real work that’s gone live, not just practice projects.

Performance Creative Instinct You understand why a beautiful video and a video that sells are not always the same thing. You know what a strong hook looks like, how retention works, and how to edit for Meta, TikTok and YouTube. You treat AI as part of the toolkit, not a threat. You’ve used AI editing and UGC-generation tools to speed up production and turn out more variations, and you’re quick to pick up whatever’s new. Hand someone like you a brief and a proven concept, and you can run with it without hand-holding.

Speed & Volume We’re an ad agency, not a film studio. You can produce a high volume of quality edits and variations quickly, hit your deadlines, and iterate fast when feedback or performance data comes back. You stay organised and things don’t slip through the cracks.

Problem Solving You’re resourceful and you manage yoursel and can be trusted.

Make sure…

  • Strong English proficiency (written and spoken)
  • Willing to work [South African/UK] business hours
  • At least 2 years of hands-on editing experience producing published video content
  • A portfolio or showreel, ideally featuring short-form or direct-response ad work
  • Reliable internet and power backup
  • Your own computer that can handle editing software, heavy renders and video calls without falling over
  • A proper remote work setup, since this is a work-from-home role
  • A 60-day trial period on all offers, so both sides can be sure it’s the right fit

Our values:
Truth Everything starts with truth. If creative isn’t working, we say so straight away. If we get something wrong, we own it. If we don’t know something, we say that too and then go and figure it out. We let the performance data do the talking.

Responsibility We lean into the work instead of dodging it. You won’t hear “that’s not my job” around here. We take ownership of outcomes, not just tasks, and when something isn’t performing we ask what we could be doing differently.

Heart We care about our clients getting results. There’s a real person behind every account who’s counting on us to help them grow, and that’s what pushes us to do our best work. We look after each other too, share the wins, and back our teammates up.

To apply:
If you’re interested, please submit the following:

  • A link to your resume in PDF format, named like this: [Lastname.Firstname.VideoEditor.pdf]
  • A link to your showreel or portfolio, ideally featuring short-form or direct-response ad work
  • A brief Loom video (3-5 minutes) walking us through one edit you’re proud of. Show us the before and after, explain your creative decisions, and tell us why it worked.

Submissions should go to: [email protected] with the subject line – “Video editor – I read the instructions”
