Conceptualisation Workshop

This is where it begins. Led by renowned South African land artist Strydom van der Merwe, students and lecturers will come together to imagine the vision, symbolism, and form of this year’s effigy. Through collaborative ideation, sketching, discussion, and material exploration, we’ll move from many ideas toward one shared direction. No marks. No pressure. Just imagination, conversation, and the first spark of something that will eventually rise — and burn — in October.
