Interrogating the gaze as an avenue towards counter-storytelling

July 10 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

Counter-Storytelling: Interrogating the Gaze

How do your experiences shape the stories you tell? In this interactive writing workshop, you’ll explore the power of perspective, unpack the idea of the “gaze”, and discover how inherited ways of seeing influence academic writing and creative work. Through thought-provoking discussions, creative writing exercises, and collaborative reflection, you’ll develop practical tools for crafting more intentional, nuanced, and authentic stories. Whether you’re a writer, filmmaker, designer, or simply curious about storytelling, this workshop offers a unique opportunity to challenge the “single story” and rethink the narratives we create. It aims to equip participants with the tools to scrutinise and subvert their own biases.

Space is limited to ensure an engaging and interactive workshop. Please RSVP HERE
