Open Window is offering up to four scholarships for the February 2027 intake, with one scholarship available per specialisation stream:

• Bachelor of Creative Technologies
• Bachelor of Arts in Visual Communication Design
• Bachelor of Arts in Game Design and Animation
• Bachelor of Film Arts

Each scholarship provides a 50% tuition fee award for the 2027 academic year, with renewal for the second and third years subject to meeting the scholarship’s academic and programme requirements.

THE CHALLENGE
Our theme is: “A Story of What Could Be…”
We want you to create a visual storytelling piece using four distinct moments or frames.
Your story can take any creative form: illustration, photography, comics, film, animation, stop motion, typography, 3D, digital design or another medium that allows you to tell your story.
Time-based submissions may not exceed 30 seconds.

WHO CAN ENTER?
The Scholarship Competition is only open to students who:

• Have matriculated in 2025 or 2026;
• Have been accepted into an Open Window degree programme for the February 2027 intake; and
• Have a valid Open Window Acceptance letter for the February 2027 intake

OPEN WINDOW APPLICATIONS:
Once you have received your Open Window Acceptance Letter, you can complete your Scholarship Competition entry.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUBMIT?
Your scholarship entry must include:

• Open Window Acceptance Letter
• Your selected qualification
• Your first-choice specialisation
• Your second-choice specialisation
• Your project title
• Your visual storytelling project consisting of four distinct moments or frames
• A project rationale of no more than 200 words
• Your planning and process documentation

Your work must be your own original work and must have been created in 2026 specifically for this competition.

ENTRIES CLOSE: 30 DECEMBER 2026
Shortlisted candidates will be notified by mid-January 2027, with winners announced by the first week of February 2027.
