On the occasion of the XX week of Italian language in the world, the Italian Embassy, the Italian Institute of Culture and Open Window proudly present a panel discussion by author and illustrator Emiliano Ponzi on “Italian between words and images”

The Week of the Italian Language in the World is an event promoted yearly by the Italian cultural and diplomatic network in the third week of October. It focuses on a theme that acts as the leitmotif of a vast cultural programme to promote the diffusion of the Italian language. The initiative was launched in 2001 through the joint action of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Accademia della Crusca. The theme for the XX Week of the Italian Language in the World (October 19-25, 2020) is “Italian Between Word and Image: Graffiti, Illustrations, Comic Books”.

Artist Bio:

Emiliano Ponziis an illustrator and author based in Milan. His clients include The New York Times, Le Monde, The New Yorker, Louis Vuitton, Moma NY, Cartier, Der Spiegel, Penguin Books, Hyundai, Esquire, Armani, Bulgari, Gucci, Martini,  La Repubblica, Feltrinelli, Lavazza, TIM, Pirelli, Ferrari and the Triennale Design Museum. Honours include the Young Guns Award and the coveted Gold Cube from The Art Directors Club of New York, multiple medals of honour (gold and silver) from the Society of Illustrators New York.
